Overview

Southwest of Peru is home to the desert oasis of Huacachina, while the coastal region of Paracas is renowned for its dry desert landscapes and marine reserve.

Huacachina experiences highs of 35°C (95°F) during the day and lows of 20°C (68°F) at night, while Paracas experiences lower temperatures all year long because of its proximity to the ocean, with typical temperatures from 15°C (59°F) to 28°C (82°F).

Sandstorms are occasionally possible in both locations, particularly in the summer.
