• Due to regulations by the railway companies, you’ll be only allowed to bring a small backpack of max 5-6 kg with you when heading by train to Aguas  Calientes (with or without overnight stay). Larger luggage can be problematic, resulting in loosing the tour without any right on a refund.

Postponement:

Min. 5 days before the start of your tour

– With a new date in mind:

• No fee from us.
• The Ministry of Culture (responsible for Machu Picchu tickets) charges $4.50 per person (for a new travel date in 2022 or later, a new ticket of $45 is required)
• Price difference for new train ticket in case it applies (we do our best to avoid higher prices!)

-Without a new date in mind:

• No fee from us.
• Ministry of Culture does not accept cancellations; you need a new ticket for $45 per person.
• You need to cancel the train ticket to not lose the entire payment. Peru Rail charges a 10% admin. fee ($13-20) for cancellations, the remaining 90% will be used for new tickets.

Cancellation:

Min. 5 days before the start of your tour

• No fee from us.
• Ministry of Culture does not accept cancellations, they charge $45 per person.
• Peru Rail charges 10% admin. fee ($13-20) for cancelling train tickets
• Remaining part of your payment will be refunded within 3 days after the cancellation has been received.

Within 48h-4 days before the start of your tour

• Receive 50% of your payment as travel credit for a future reservation or as a refund

Min 24h before the start of your tour

• Receive 30% of your payment as travel credit for the future reservation or as a refund

• Wear light shoes, a long sleeve shirt, long pants and bring a raincoat
• Bring your original passport for the Machu Picchu tour.
• Drink lots of water during the excursion
• Take insect repellent, sunblock, sunglasses and a hat for sunny days with you

• Please note that for holidays, the team receives an extra bonus as they make the sacrifice of not being with their families. To appreciate their availability, an additional $70 (in total, not per person) will be charged apart from the price indicated on the webpage. This amount can be paid via email payment request by Paypal.
• Machu Picchu Mountain and Huayna Picchu option
  • Both are hikes to the mountains that surround the archeological site of Machu Picchu. Please find a detailed comparison here.
  • In case you opt to add one of those two hikes, please contact us first via Whatsapp +51965027736 or info@exploor.pe to help you with the availabilities. The additional entrance fee for either the Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu hike is $20. This amount will be added automatically when you choose the preferred option in the dropdown above.
  • In case you plan to take the private guided tour with the Vistadome train both ways and one of those two hikes at 8 am, you’ll have to take the Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes the evening before and stay there for the night, because the earliest Vistadome train leaving to Aguas Calientes the day of your tour won’t arrive on time to join the 8 am hike.
• The seats in the train are chosen by the train company itself; there is no possibility to influence your seat from our side.
• Changes or upgrades are subject to 1.) availability and 2.) an extra charge as stated in our Terms and conditions.
